Konami Digital Entertainment announced Rev. NOiR, a brand-new RPG coming to PlayStation 5, during Sony’s February 2026 State of Play. The game marks Konami’s latest entry into the role-playing genre and was revealed through a teaser trailer alongside the launch of an official teaser website.
The project is being produced by Nobuki Kadoi, who previously worked at Square Enix as the producer of Gunslinger Stratos before leaving the company at the end of 2019. More recently, Kadoi provided production support for the Suikoden I & II HD Remaster. Development studio ILCA also appears to be involved with Rev. NOiR, with their logo displayed on the game’s official website. ILCA has previously worked on several notable RPGs, including Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, One Piece Odyssey, and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Rev. NOiR takes place in a world threatened by “lightfall,” a deadly phenomenon where drops of light kill anything they touch. Players follow a young boy suffering from amnesia who has been affected by this phenomenon. On the verge of death and with only scattered memories of his past, he is awakened by a special girl. Together, the two set out on a journey to stop the lightfall, believing their quest will save the world.
According to the game’s description, the story explores themes of fate versus free will, asking whether events are determined by the gods or by human choice. The journey promises to shake the foundations of the game’s world as players work to “unravel the mandate of heaven.”

Rev. NOiR is currently announced exclusively for PlayStation 5, with no release date revealed at this time. Konami released a teaser trailer and initial screenshots during the announcement, though many details about the game remain undisclosed.
