Konami has officially announced Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2, the second installment of its definitive Metal Gear Solid compilation, set to launch on PlayStation 5 on August 27, 2026. The announcement debuted during the latest State of Play and comes with an official trailer showcasing the included titles and features.
This collection brings together some of the franchise’s most beloved entries, including Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and the first handheld game, Metal Gear: Ghost Babel, originally released in 2000. Players will find each game accompanied by a scenario book containing the full text of the game, as well as a master book with in-depth insights into the story and characters. The digital edition also includes Metal Gear Solid: Digital Soundtrack Vol.2, featuring memorable music from each game.
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Set in a world dominated by private military companies, Metal Gear Solid 4 follows Solid Snake, the clone of Big Boss, as he faces off against Liquid Ocelot, who plans to escalate global conflicts for his own vision of a “warrior’s world.” This version features improved internal resolution, higher frame rates, and customizable controls, giving both new and returning players a refined experience.
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Peace Walker takes place ten years after Naked Snake earns the title of Big Boss. Running an independent military unit in Colombia, he investigates a mysterious armed group in Costa Rica that may threaten the balance of power in Central America. This edition includes online CO-OPS for 2–4 players and VERSUS OPS for up to 6, along with customizable control settings for a tailored gameplay experience.
Metal Gear: Ghost Babel
The handheld classic Ghost Babel follows Solid Snake as he infiltrates the enemy fortress Galuade to destroy a stolen prototype Metal Gear. The game introduces new screen filters, pixel-perfect settings, a rewind function, and customizable controls. Players will encounter mercenary groups and uncover a web of hidden conspiracies connected to the Metal Gear universe.
Pre-Order Bonuses and Save Data Rewards
Players who pre-order Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2 will receive in-game items for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Peace Walker, including the Cardboard Camouflage and LOVE BOX uniform. Those with save data from Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 can unlock additional rewards: Gold Camouflage for MGS4 and a GOLD uniform for Peace Walker.

Konami has also announced a final post-launch update for Master Collection Vol.1, adding visual improvements across the included titles. To celebrate the announcement of Vol.2, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Master Collection Vol.1 are currently discounted on the PlayStation Store for a limited time.
