Bungie has announced that Marathon, its upcoming survival extraction shooter, will release on March 5, 2026. The game will be available on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S with cross-play and cross-save support.
The game features an extensive English voice cast including Roger Clark, Jennifer English, Neil Newbon, Ben Starr, and Fred Tatasciore, among 33 announced actors. Bungie confirmed that fully localized dialogue will be available for all supported languages, with those voice casts to be revealed later. The roster will continue to grow as the game evolves.
Marathon takes place on Tau Ceti IV, a lost colony where players take on the role of bio-cybernetic Runners. The game focuses on scavenging for resources while facing threats from security forces, rival players, and dangerous environments. A new gameplay trailer released today shows the various challenges players will encounter on the planet’s surface.
Pre-Order Options and
Standard Edition includes access to all future gameplay updates like maps, Runner shells, and events. Pre-ordering grants several in-game items including weapon styles, charms, stickers, backgrounds, and an emblem. Destiny 2 players who pre-order also receive exclusive rewards such as an exotic ghost shell, ship, and sparrow.
Deluxe Edition adds a Premium Rewards Pass voucher, 200 SILK tokens, and multiple weapon and Runner shell cosmetics with the “Midnight Decay” theme.
Collector’s Edition contains all Deluxe Edition content plus physical items: a 1/6th scale Thief Runner shell statue with LED lights, a WEAVEworm miniature, an embroidered patch, six art postcards, and premium packaging with a lenticular poster.

Sony is releasing Marathon-themed limited edition hardware. The DualSense controller ($84.99) features graphics inspired by the game’s futuristic setting and will be available globally starting March 5, with pre-orders opening January 29 at 10am local time. The Pulse Elite wireless headset ($169.99) will only be available in the U.S. through PlayStation Direct, also launching March 5 with pre-orders starting January 29 at 10am ET.


All Destiny 2 players can claim free Marathon-themed items from the Eververse Store, including a weapon ornament for the MIDA Multi-Tool, a shader, and an emote. Bungie thanked the community that has been playtesting Marathon since April 2025, noting that their feedback and support have been valuable to the game’s development.
The studio expressed excitement about welcoming more players to Tau Ceti IV soon and confirmed that more information about an open preview weekend will be shared at a later date. Players can find pre-order links and additional details on the official Bungie Store and participating retailers.
