Capcom has shared fresh new details about Resident Evil Requiem, revealing more about its dual-protagonist gameplay system, special edition offerings, and partnerships with Hamilton and Porsche.
Two Playable Characters and New Details
The game features FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and veteran DSO agent Leon Kennedy as its two main characters. Players can switch between first-person and third-person perspectives at any time during gameplay. Leon’s sections focus on action-oriented combat. He uses various weapons and can perform close-quarters attacks with a new hatchet weapon. Players can time their moves to parry enemy attacks, use chainsaws taken from enemies, and execute finishing moves.

Grace’s gameplay leans toward survival horror. She starts in a zombie-filled sanatorium where players must decide which enemies to fight and which to avoid. With limited resources and inventory space, decisions carry real consequences. Grace can craft items using a special device that processes infected blood. She also has access to the Requiem assault revolver, a powerful weapon with limited ammunition.
The zombies in Requiem exhibit unusual behaviors tied to their past lives—a chef continues cooking, a singer keeps singing, and a janitor endlessly polishes mirrors. Players can use these patterns to their advantage. The story centers around a keyword called “Elpis,” which connects Grace’s mother Alyssa Ashcroft’s death, Grace’s past, and Leon’s investigation.

Two difficulty modes are available: Casual mode includes aim assist and more forgiving health/enemy settings, while Standard (Classic) mode requires Ink Ribbons to save when playing as Grace, adding resource management pressure. Resident Evil Requiem launches February 27, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It will also be available on GeForce NOW cloud gaming, with DLSS 4 and path-traced effects for high-end PC players.
Collaborations and Releases
Hamilton is releasing two limited-edition watches based on those worn by Leon and Grace in the game. Only 2,000 units of each model—the Khaki Field Auto Chrono (Leon) and Pan Europ Automatic (Grace)—will be sold worldwide starting February 27. Porsche created a custom Cayenne Turbo GT for the game using 3D printing technology. The vehicle serves as Leon’s in-game transportation.
The game comes in Standard and Deluxe editions. The Deluxe edition includes five costumes, four weapon skins, two screen filters, two charms, and additional content. All pre-orders receive Grace’s “Apocalypse” costume. A Premium Steelbook Edition with Deluxe content and an exclusive lenticular card is also available in limited quantities.

Other announcements include 1/6 scale figures of Grace and Leon coming this fall, Resident Evil orchestral performances celebrating the series’ 30th anniversary, and the first Resident Evil amiibo featuring Grace (Summer 2026).
Nintendo Switch 2 players can purchase the Resident Evil Generation Pack, which bundles Requiem with Resident Evil 7 Biohazard Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition. A special Resident Evil Requiem Pro Controller will also be available at launch. Epic Games Store purchasers will receive Resident Evil-themed items for Fortnite, including a Grace outfit.
