We reported about the countdown site of Phantasy Star‘s new mobile title last week, and now the title is officially unveiled as Idola Phantasy Star Saga! Launching in Japan this year (2018), the game is an RPG for both Android and iOS. Pre-registration is available at their official site now, you can also check out the new trailer below:
The story of Idola Phantasy Star Saga is set in the war-ravaged land of Vandoll, where people spend their day protecting the land by chasing out the mysterious, huge monsters – Idola using swords and magic. However, the god of destruction “Dark Farce” which is sealed long ago is resurrecting back to the land. You will need to stop Dark Farce’s resurrection, as well as discovering the true nature of the Idola that descended from Dark Farce.
The game is featuring a unique command-based battle system which will be revealed at a later date. Also, the in-game characters will be separated into 2 camps, the Law and Chaos.
Here is the introduction of the main characters (via Gematsu):
- Stella (voiced by Akane Fujita)
The head of the White Sheep Knights armed brigade that fight the Idola, as well as the heroine. She has a shy personality, but usually hides her true feelings behind an iron mask. When wearing the iron mask, she acts boldly and confidently, but when the mask comes off, her shy behaviour comes out.
- Yuri (voiced by Toshiki Masuda)
The protagonist. He lost both of his parents at a young age and was taken in by a ship captain that was an old friend of his father, and was raised as a sailor. After his fated encounter with Stella, he joins the White Sheep Knights as the leader of their commando unit. He has a big heart and broad-minded personality, and is cheerful and frank with anyone he meets.
