Marvel Rivals kicks off Season 5: Love is a Battlefield on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam as a free update on November 14. The update introduces new heroes Gambit and Rogue, cross-platform progression, and several new features, building momentum ahead of the game’s first anniversary on November 27.
Gambit Joins the Fight

Season 5 adds Gambit as a Strategist-class hero, combining kinetic card attacks, support skills, and agile movement. Rogue also appears in the narrative, though she is not yet confirmed as a playable character. This update allows players to experiment with Gambit’s unique abilities in both casual and competitive play.

In celebration of the game’s one-year milestone, players will receive 2,500 Units and a free Legendary Jeff costume. Additional themed outfits, including fan-designed skins and Cake Party costumes, will also be available during the anniversary event.
New Modes and Competitive Enhancements
A new 18v18 Conquest (Annihilation) mode launches on November 27, offering large-scale battles on the Grand Garden map. Season 5 also introduces a placement system for Competitive mode, giving players more structured ranking and progression.

Additionally, cross-platform progression officially goes live, allowing players to carry their progress across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox accounts. PvE content continues into 2026, following the recent Marvel Zombies expansion, keeping fans engaged with cooperative challenges. The game’s university costume program returns with 10 new outfits and MVP rewards for students verifying their school email.
Social Map and Community Interaction

Season 5 also adds a social map in Times Square, which allows up to 100 players to gather in a non-combat space. Players can interact, dance, and watch videos together. This new season promises to expand the Marvel Rivals experience, combining new heroes, modes, and cross-progression to ensure fans remain engaged as the game approaches its first anniversary.
