The movie adaptation of Chilla’s Art’s horror game The Convenience Store has received its first full trailer, along with details about the cast and theatrical release. Kotona Minami will play the lead role of Yukino Tazuru, a convenience store employee working the late-night shift. The story follows Yukino as strange events begin to unfold after a mysterious delivery arrives at the store, leading to increasingly disturbing supernatural occurrences. The Convenience Store movie is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on February 20, 2026.
The trailer includes several nods to the original game. Yukino can be seen with an omamori charm, which in the game is given to the player by a female customer. Multiple televisions showing static appear throughout the trailer, referencing events from the game’s third night. The trailer also shows the female ghost character who appears as the game’s main threat.

Minami, known for her work in the live-action adaptation of the manga Alice-san Chi no Iroribata (Beside the Hearth at Alice-san’s House), will be making her first appearance in a horror film with this project. In a statement reported by Denfaminicogamer, Minami described the filming experience as “incredibly fresh” due to the unique filming methods used. She mentioned that she enjoyed thinking about how the scenes would look in the finished film and found the production to be a valuable learning experience.
