Steam has unveiled a new experimental feature called Personal Calendar, now available for users to test through Steam Labs. The tool is designed to address the challenge of finding relevant games among the thousands that release each year. The platform announced the feature as part of its Steam Labs program, where it tests new tools before potentially rolling them out to all users.
The Personal Calendar generates personalized game recommendations by analyzing each user’s most-played titles. The system updates daily and focuses specifically on games with the highest playtime rather than pulling from a user’s entire library. According to Steam, the calendar displays both upcoming releases and recently launched games. The layout runs Monday through Friday, excluding weekends when few games typically launch.

The feature includes several key functions. Wishlisted games appear on the calendar regardless of whether they match a user’s play patterns. Recent releases are organized into two categories: games from the past week and games from the past month, displayed separately from the daily view of upcoming titles. Users can modify the calendar’s appearance and content through customization tools and filters built into the interface.
Steam is collecting user feedback on the experimental feature through the Steam Labs discussion page for Personal Calendar. The company has not announced whether or when the feature might become a permanent addition to the platform. The Personal Calendar joins other Steam Labs experiments as the platform continues testing ways to improve game discovery for its users.
