Quantic Dream, the Paris-based game studio, has announced Spellcasters Chronicles, a new free-to-play team-based action strategy game coming to PC via Steam. Players can now sign up for the closed beta through the game’s official website.
The game puts players in the role of powerful mages called Spellcasters in a world where the gods have disappeared. These Spellcasters can control an ancient energy known as the Source, which they use to cast magic and shape the world’s fate.

Spellcasters Chronicles is a third-person multiplayer game that combines action and strategy. Players take on the role of mage commanders who can summon creatures and cast spells during battles. The game focuses on rewarding strategic thinking, skill, and creative gameplay. The main gameplay features three-versus-three combat where players work together in teams. Battles take place in magical arenas where players can cast spells that damage enemies, strengthen allies, or change the battlefield itself. Players can fly and engage in aerial combat while commanding their armies from above.
A key part of the game is summoning creatures to fight alongside players. The roster includes various monsters like skeleton warriors, ogres, and dragons, with each type serving different purposes. Players can also build towers and structures to control areas of the map and summon large Titans that can reshape the battlefield.

The game offers over 50 spells and summons across seven schools of magic. Players can create their own decks and play styles, choosing to focus on support, tank, or damage-dealing roles. New spells and summons can be unlocked by collecting knowledge throughout the game. Spellcasters Chronicles will feature seasonal content where the community makes choices that affect both the gameplay and the game’s story going forward.
