Apple confirmed that NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition will arrive on October 16, 2025, exclusively on Apple Arcade. The launch follows NFL Retro Bowl ’26, adding another major sports title to the growing service. With sharper visuals across Apple devices and exciting new features, this edition puts fans closer to the NBA experience. Players can build a championship team or challenge friends online for bragging rights.

Relive Legendary Eras with NBA Eras

A major highlight is the new NBA Eras mode. For the first time, fans can step back into defining decades of basketball history. The journey begins with the famous rivalry between Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, before expanding into more iconic eras. Players can draft rosters, recreate historic clashes, and make highlight reels with basketball legends. Visual Concepts’ general manager Rebecca Chan said the team had “an absolute blast” developing this feature and can’t wait for fans to try it.
Enhanced MyCAREER and The Association

The game also expands fan-favourite modes. In The Association, players can build championship teams while moving through different eras. MyCAREER now supports multiplayer and better customization. New templates let fans design MyPLAYER characters inspired by Vince Carter, Allen Iverson, or cover athlete Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Updated rosters reflect the latest trades and signings, keeping every match authentic. With these updates, NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition combines nostalgia with modern competition.
New Games and Updates on Apple Arcade

Before launch, Apple Arcade will add more content. On October 2, three App Store hits will join Arcade without ads or in-app purchases. These are Thomas & Friends: Let’s Roll+ by StoryToys, Dominoes: Classic Tile Game+ by MobilityWare, and Piffle+ by Mighty Games and Hipster Whale. On September 30, TMNT Splintered Fate will receive a big update. Metalhead joins the roster as a playable character, teaming up with the Turtles to save New York City. The expansion comes at no extra cost for subscribers.
