Riot Games announced that the closed beta for 2XKO, its upcoming 2v2 fighter, will begin on September 9, 2025, for Windows PC players. This large-scale test gives fans their first extended chance to play the game before its 2025 release.

Full Champion Lineup Revealed
The beta roster includes nine champions from the League of Legends universe: Darius, Ahri, Ekko, Yasuo, Illaoi, Braum, Jinx, Vi, and Blitzcrank. Among them, Vi stands out as she makes her debut in 2XKO, wielding her iconic hextech gauntlets and brawler-style fighting techniques.

Her inclusion adds more variety to the cast, ensuring fans can enjoy both heavy-hitting bruisers and fast, agile fighters.
How to Register for the Beta
Fans can still sign up through Riot’s official website for a chance to join the test. Players who joined the earlier Alpha Lab playtests will automatically gain access without needing to register again.

In addition, Riot will send direct invites to selected players. Those who already receive access can also share referral links with friends, helping more people experience the closed beta.
Gameplay Features in the Test
The beta lets participants explore key systems of 2XKO. Players can draft duos for 2v2 matches, select Fuses to customize strategies, and compete in best-of-three battles.

The test also introduces a Windows PC-exclusive build, though Riot confirmed that progress will carry over when the game launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This ensures players can keep their progress across platforms.
Riot’s Plans for the Beta
Riot plans to keep servers online throughout the test except during maintenance. Because this is the first large-scale system rollout, some stability issues may still occur during the early stages.

First revealed as Project L, 2XKO marks Riot’s entry into the fighting game genre. The game will be free-to-play and is set to launch in 2025 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC. Visit the official website for more details and updates on the game.
