Honkai: Nexus Anima is a new creature-collecting adventure strategy game that was first teased during the Honkai: Star Rail anniversary concert in May 2025. The game introduces players to a world where Nexus represents the unseen bonds between paired concepts like Love and Hate, Light and Dark, and Life and Death.

Players take on the role of a plane-hopping traveler who has escaped captivity and must forge bonds with these Anima companions. Each Anima has unique abilities that reflect different concepts, and players can combine these abilities to create different battle strategies.
Moreover, the game features both exploration and combat elements, with Anima companions fighting alongside players in Nexus Battles. As players progress, they uncover mysteries about their character’s past while exploring various realms that open up from an initial tranquil town setting.
