Sony Interactive Entertainment will launch the Ghost of Yōtei Gold Limited Edition PS5 Console bundles and accessories for pre-order on September 4. Moreover, players in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, and Vietnam can secure their units early at select retailers.
A Tribute to Japanese Tradition
Sucker Punch designed the console around their fictional version of Ezo, now modern-day Hokkaido. At the same time, Mount Yōtei sits at the heart of the design, symbolizing both Hokkaido and Atsu’s personal story.
The artwork also draws from kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing pottery with gold lacquer. Consequently, this philosophy represents beauty in imperfection and mirrors Atsu’s healing journey through struggle and resilience.
Exclusive Design Elements
Sony engraved a special maker’s seal with PlayStation shapes on the console’s top cover and the DualSense controller. Furthermore, the controller features Atsu herself, with her silhouette placed across the touchpad.
Jason Connell, Creative Director at Sucker Punch, said the designs reflect the game’s focus on exploration and artistry. He explained that icons, brushstrokes, and Atsu’s Ghost mask inspired the look, while Mount Yōtei anchors the centerpiece.
Bundle Contents and Pre-Order Bonuses
The Ghost of Yōtei Gold Limited Edition PS5 Bundle includes a console with disc drive, a matching DualSense controller, and a digital copy of Ghost of Yōtei. In addition, pre-orders grant an exclusive in-game mask and seven PSN avatars featuring Atsu and the Yōtei Six.
Sony confirmed that players who already own a PS5 Slim or PS5 Pro can purchase matching console covers separately. Similarly, the DualSense controller will also be sold individually for those who prefer only the accessory.
