Aniplex and South Korean developer JOYCITY Corporation have officially announced Resident Evil Survival Unit. The game takes place in a different timeline from the main Resident Evil series, moving away from the usual survival horror style to focus on tactical gameplay. The game has officially opened pre-registration on the App Store and Google Play.
The story begins with players waking up in a hospital run by the Umbrella Corporation, where they were being used as test subjects. Instead of trying to escape, players will build and manage their own base inside a large mansion.
The main gameplay focuses on real-time defense battles where players fight against monsters from throughout Resident Evil history. Success depends on smart placement of characters, using environmental traps, and coordinating team abilities. Players will need to think carefully about their strategy to survive these encounters.

The base-building system includes many familiar elements from the Resident Evil series. Players can buy items from the returning Weapons Merchant, craft equipment, and put together teams of fighters. The mansion acts as both a safe space and a preparation area for the battles ahead.
In addition, popular characters from across the Resident Evil franchise will return, including Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, and Jill Valentine. Each character has their own special abilities and skills, letting players mix and match fighters from different games in the series.

Resident Evil Survival Unit will launch globally in 2025 on both iOS and Android devices. Moreover, the game will be available in Japan, Korea, North America, Europe, and other parts of Asia. Players can sign up for pre-registration now through the App Store and Google Play to get notified when the game releases. The game will be free to download and play, with optional purchases available for players who want to buy extra content or speed up their progress.
