HoYoverse has officially announced that Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.4, titled “For the Sun is Set to Die,” will launch globally on July 2, 2025. The update features a full collaboration with the beloved anime franchise Fate/Stay Night (Unlimited Blade Works), introducing fan-favorite characters Saber and Archer as playable units.
As the story moves toward the dawn of a new era, players will embark on a high-stakes journey with Phainon, explore the secrets of the Era Nova, and battle alongside Saber and Archer in a special crossover storyline and event.
Phainon Enters The Stage

In the upcoming main story, Phainon finally joins the Trailblazers’ team as a key ally. Players will explore Aedes Elysiae, uncovering Phainon’s backstory from his early days to becoming a Flame-Chaser. In combat, Phainon builds up Coreflames to transform and enter a powerful Territory state, gaining new abilities while temporarily removing allies from battle (though their buffs remain active). His Technique also increases the team’s Technique Point cap and can instantly defeat weaker enemies without triggering combat, making exploration more efficient.
Fate/Stay Night Collaboration Highlights
Starting July 11, the Fate/Stay Night collaboration kicks off with a themed story event titled “Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail War,” where characters like Aventurine, Mr. Boothill, and Robin join the Trailblazer in a battle royale-style war within Penacony.
Three Heroic Spirits, Saber, Archer, and Lancer, will be summoned to aid contestants, with Saber and Archer becoming playable.

Saber is a 5-star character with the Wind-type character following the Path of Destruction, where she wields “Excalibur” to deal AoE Wind DMG. Gains extra actions through Core Resonance and can convert her basic attacks into enhanced AoEs.

Archer is a 5-star Quantum-type character following the Path of the Hunt, where he uses the “Unlimited Blade Works” to deliver high single-target damage. His Skill enters a special state, allowing multiple casts per turn. He will be available for free during the collab period by logging in.
Version 3.4 Update Details
Starting July 11, players can log in to Honkai: Star Rail to claim Archer, where he will be available until the end of Version 3.6. His character and Light Cone banners will also remain available long-term after the event begins.

Version 3.4 also sees the return of fan-favorite characters like Tribbie, Sunday, and Sparkle in the first half of the update, whilst Firefly, Jingliu, and Blade will be available in the second half of the update. Silver Wolf, Kafka, Blade, and Jingliu are getting major enhancements, including Eidolon and combat improvements. Players will now be able to switch between classic and enhanced battle modes, offering more customizable gameplay.
Other updates include the debut of Firefly’s new outfit “Spring Missive”, the long-awaited dialogue skip feature, and the return of the beloved Origami Bird minigame, adding even more content to the experience.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.4 launches July 2, with the Fate/Stay Night collaboration event beginning July 11. The update will be available on PC, PS5, iOS, and Android.
