The beloved magical girl series that captured hearts worldwide since 1996 has finally made its way to Southeast Asia. After successful runs in Japan, Taiwan, Shanghai, and Seoul, the Cardcaptor Sakura Exhibition – The Enchanted Museum has opened its doors at INCUBASE Arena in Fahrenheit88, Kuala Lumpur, running from April 12 to June 11, 2025. This immersive celebration of CLAMP’s iconic creation offers fans both new and old a chance to step into Sakura’s enchanted world through a carefully curated experience that honors the series’ enduring legacy.

The exhibition space is impossible to miss, with vibrant banners and posters guiding visitors to the second floor of Fahrenheit88. Before entering, guests are greeted by an elegant arrangement of decorated cherry blossoms alongside a standee of the event—a perfect photo opportunity, especially for those dressed in pastel colors matching the exhibition’s aesthetic.

Upon entry, each visitor receives a Stamp Rally card with six stations to complete throughout the exhibition. Collecting all stamps earns you a special reward at the ticketing counter, adding an interactive element to the experience.

      The Library Where It Began

The exhibition opens with a magical recreation of the basement library from Sakura’s home, where her card-capturing journey first began. This section features elaborately decorated storybook displays that summarize key plot points from the series, accompanied by CLAMP’s commentary, behind-the-scenes notes, and character insights. Visitors can learn about the series’ evolution since its 1996 debut, providing context for both newcomers and longtime fans.

      Special Theater

A highlight of the exhibition is an exclusive 2-3 minute short film created specifically for this event. The film features Kero-chan bestowing his blessing and casting a spell to enhance the magical atmosphere of the exhibition. This charming sequence also demonstrates the visual evolution of the anime, transitioning from the original 4:3 aspect ratio to the modern 16:9 format.

      Room of THE FLOWER

Inspired by The Flower card and reflecting Sakura’s warm, gentle nature, this vibrant section is adorned with colorful flower wall decorations and floral artwork. Interactive elements include a sticker station where visitors can select flower or petal stickers to contribute to a collaborative wall mural. Educational displays explain the meanings behind different flowers when given as gifts, such as Dianthus flowers symbolizing “Love me always, Yearning.”

      THE SIEGE Atelier of Tomoyo

This section pays tribute to Tomoyo’s exceptional sewing talents by recreating her workshop, complete with fabric samples and sewing materials. The highlight is a display of Sakura’s iconic costumes designed by Tomoyo throughout the series. Accompanying notes reveal Tomoyo’s inner thoughts while creating each outfit, showcasing the love and dedication she invested in dressing her best friend for magical adventures. This area is particularly appealing to cosplayers and fans of the series’ distinctive fashion.

      THE MAZE of Drawings

Perhaps the most substantial part of the exhibition, this literal maze showcases over 200 original manga artworks drawn by CLAMP. The collection spans from early black-and-white manga panels to colored illustrations, including materials from the more recent Clear Card arc. Being able to appreciate CLAMP’s intricate artistry up close makes this section an emotional highlight for many attendees.

      Room of THE RECORD

This space chronicles Cardcaptor Sakura’s legacy from 1996 to 2018, featuring a comprehensive timeline, volume covers, and official merchandise released throughout the series’ run. At the center of the room stands a circular pedestal featuring Sakura’s latest Magic Circle from the Clear Card arc, where visitors can stand and imagine performing spells themselves. A playful touch is added with a small ball pit containing Kero-chan plushies that guests can jump in and enjoy.

      Meet THE BIG Kero-chan

One of the exhibition’s most popular photo spots features an oversized, huggable Kero-chan statue in a bright yellow room. This super-sized version of the beloved guardian beast, created with the power of THE BIG card, provides a cheerful backdrop for memorable photos and videos that fans won’t want to miss.

      Room of Cards

The exhibition concludes with an elegant, mysterious space showcasing the complete collection of magical cards from the series—Clow Cards, Sakura Cards, and Clear Cards—all displayed in illuminated cases behind glass. The ambient lighting creates a quiet, reverent atmosphere that serves as a fitting finale to the magical journey before leading visitors to the merchandise area.

      Merchandise and Photo Opportunities

The exhibition shop offers an extensive range of collectibles including plush keychains, fabric posters, charm keychains, glitter acrylic cards, bags, acrylic stands, bookmark sets, pin badges, and more. Fans can also visit a photo booth (RM25 per photo) to capture their experience with exclusive frames, including options for multiple photos in a single print.

      Themed Café

Operated by Acolab Café (known for previous anime-themed events at Pavilion Bukit Jalil), the exhibition café offers a place to relax with themed refreshments. The menu features four desserts and four beverages inspired by the series. While the fruit teas (Elderflower Honeydew Tea and Peach Osmanthus Tea) are pleasant but standard offerings, desserts like the Spinny Sweets—a brownie topped with taro ice cream—provide a satisfying treat after exploring Sakura’s magical world. The Sakura Snowberry shaved ice, however, may be less impressive due to its mild sweetness.

For dedicated fans and curious newcomers alike, the Cardcaptor Sakura Exhibition – The Enchanted Museum offers a magical journey through the beloved series’ history and artistry. With its interactive elements, original artwork, and nostalgic atmosphere, this limited-time exhibition presents a rare opportunity to experience the enchantment of Cardcaptor Sakura in person.
