Acer has unveiled its latest entry into the handheld gaming market with two new devices: the Nitro Blaze 8 and Nitro Blaze 11. Unveiled on CES 2025 at Las Vegas on January 6, 2025, these Windows 11-powered handhelds are set to launch in Q2 2025, targeting the growing mobile gaming segment.

Both devices are powered by AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processors with Ryzen AI, delivering up to 39 TOPS of processing power. The handhelds feature WQXGA touch displays with impressive 144Hz refresh rates and 500 nits brightness, available in 8.8-inch and 10.95-inch sizes respectively. Additionally, graphics are handled by AMD Radeon 780M, supported by Radeon Super Resolution and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution technology for enhanced visual performance.

The devices come equipped with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM running at 7500 MT/s and offer up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe storage. Connectivity options include USB 4 (Type-C), USB 3.2 (Type-C), Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. Each unit features DTS:X Ultra Audio and Hall Effect triggers and sticks for precise control. The larger Nitro Blaze 11 model includes additional features such as detachable controllers for flexible play styles, a built-in stand, and a front-facing camera for streaming and video calls. In addition, both models include access to Acer’s Game Space application, accessible via a dedicated hotkey for streamlined game management.

Alongside the Nitro Blaze, Acer is launching the Nitro Mobile Gaming Controller, a foldable controller compatible with Android and iOS devices with screens up to 8.3 inches. Moreover, the controller features 18W fast-charging pass-through capability and includes rubber pads for secure device gripping. Pricing for the Nitro Blaze 8 starts at $899 in North America and €999 in EMEA regions, while the Nitro Blaze 11 will retail starting at $1,099 and €1,199 respectively.
