Konami has announced that Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars will be released on March 6, 2025. The remastered collection will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. This announcement marks the addition of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions to the previously revealed platforms.

Digital pre-orders are now open for all platforms except the Nintendo Switch, which will begin pre-orders on September 6. Physical edition pre-orders will be available starting August 28.

The collection features HD remasters of the classic JRPGs Suikoden I and Suikoden II. Both games follow the stories of heroes gathering the 108 Stars of Destiny to shape the course of history in their respective conflicts. Suikoden I focuses on a liberation army rising against a tyrannical ruler, while Suikoden II tells the tale of a youth brigade caught in a brewing war between the Highland Kingdom and the City-States of Jowstown.

The remastered versions boast several improvements over the originals. Graphical enhancements include updated pixel sprites, environment art, and new screen effects such as improved lighting, clouds, and shadow animations. Original “Suikoden” character designer Junko Kawano has redrawn all character portraits in HD.

Audio improvements feature enhanced environmental sounds and HD battle sound effects, contributing to a more immersive gaming experience. The collection also introduces quality-of-life updates such as a dialogue log, auto-battle feature, and the option for double-speed battles.

With these enhancements, Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars aims to bring these beloved JRPGs to a new generation of players while offering longtime fans a fresh way to experience the classics.
