HoYoverse has announced that Genshin Impact Version 5.0 “Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn” will be available on August 28 on PS5, PS4, Android, iOS and PC.
Players will be able to reach the sixth major nation of Teyvat and ally with the warriors of the region, including Kachina, Kinich, and Mualani, as well as the Saurians of Natlan. Set off to discover diverse tribes, landscapes, mysteries, and legends. Check out the official trailer for version 5.0 below.
Unlocking Natlan
The path to Natlan will be accessible through an unlocked Teleport Waypoint available to all players, including those at beginner and intermediate levels, once they have completed the Prologue of the Archon Quest in Mondstadt. Natlan, the Nation of Pyro, is situated west of the Sumeru desert.
This nation is home to six major tribes. The Saurians, often referred to as the dragons of Natlan, have undergone a long evolution, allowing them to live harmoniously with humans, even becoming their loyal companions. In Version 5.0, players will have the opportunity to explore three of these tribes and encounter three different types of Saurians that coexist with the locals.
Power of Saurians
Understanding the abilities of the various Saurians is crucial for navigating Natlan’s rugged terrain, including its towering cliffs and flowing springs. Players can even inhabit a Saurian, gaining their unique abilities. For example, the Tepetlisaurus, adept at tunneling and climbing, are ideal companions for the Children of Echoes, who reside in the canyons.
The Yumkasaurus, capable of propelling themselves upward, are perfect for the Scions of the Canopy, a tribe that lives suspended on cliff walls.
Meanwhile, the Koholasaurus, known for their speed on water and liquid Phlogiston, are commonly found with the People of the Springs near the sea.
The Nation of War
Natlan, also known as the Nation of War, honors her warriors at the Stadium of the Sacred Flame, where the Champion of each tribe is chosen through a tournament. This is where the main story unfolds, as the player, accompanied by local warriors Kachina, Kinich, and Mualani, travel to the Stadium. To begin Natlan’s Archon Quest, players need to reach Adventure Rank 28 and above, and have completed all of Liyue’s Archon Quests.
Notable Characters
- Kachina: A 4-star Geo polearm wielder from the Children of Echoes can summon Turbo Twirly to scale walls and cliffs or to pound the ground, dealing AOE damage. Players can recruit her for free by completing Act I of Natlan’s Archon Quest.
- Kinich: A renowned hunter from the Scions of the Canopy, this 5-star Dendro warrior wields a claymore and expertly uses a grappling hook to reach heights and execute powerful Loop Shots against enemies. His special companion, Ajaw, can also join battles, unleashing dragon breath on foes.
- Mualani: A Hydro five-star catalyst wielder and watersports shop owner from People of the Springs, can use her Sharky Surfboard to move at full speed on various surfaces, including water, liquid Phlogiston, and dry land. In combat, when she moves on her surfboard and hits an enemy, she applies a mark and deals additional damage with Sharky’s Bite after several hits.
Mualani, along with Kachina and Kinich, can locate regional specialties and offer unique talents such as restoring Stamina, accumulating Phlogiston, or increasing movement speed. These abilities benefit the entire party when interacting with certain harvestable items. In the Nation of Pyro, players must wisely manage Phlogiston to maximize the abilities of warriors and Saurians. Through a ritual known as Phlogiston Engravings, Natlan’s warriors can enhance their battle prowess with the Nightsoul’s Blessing.

In the meantime, the stories of Natlan’s three new characters will be available through the Tribal Chronicles, a new three-act quest for each tribe that replace the previous Story Quests, to provide a comprehensive experience for players to gain a deeper understanding of the stories, people, and traditions.
Players can visit each tribe’s “Obsidian Totem Pole” to start the Tribal Chronicles, as well as their Bounties and Supply Notices to earn Reputation EXP and valuable rewards.
Special Login Rewards and Bonuses
As Genshin Impact’s 4th anniversary approaches, Version 5.0 will bring various rewards and bonuses for fans and players. These include a special daily login event with up to 10x Intertwined Fates, and in-game mail gifts like 1,600 Primogems, two exclusive gadgets (“Firstborn Firesprite” and “Kaboom Box”), and other bonuses.

Players can also invite a 5-star character from the Standard Wish lineup to their team for free. Additionally, updates to the Character Event Wish, Weapon Event Wish, and a new tool for redeeming Artifacts with designated affixes will be introduced.
