The latest game in the saga, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has just been announced and in this title, Princess Zelda will be taking the lead instead of Link.

Unveiled as part of today’s June 2024 Nintendo Direct, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will be out later this year on September 26, 2024.

As mentioned, in this entry, Princess Zelda will be the playable protagonist for the first time in 38 years of the franchise. Not only that, she even comes with her own set of abilities.

Her playstyle revolves around “Echoes” – think of Echoes as copies of items that the princess can bring back into reality with her Tri Rod, granted by the mysterious fairy called Tri.

These Echoes are used to solve various puzzles and allow Zelda to navigate her way through battles, such as creating tables to climb over obstacles or elemental blocks to swim up water.

Gameplay is no doubt intriguing, incentivizing players to think outside the box to solve puzzles even in battles since Zelda is no swordsman like Link.

This shiny new game even has the same visual style as The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake!
