Bandai has announced the official opening of the regional page for the Gunpla Builders World Cup in Malaysia.

For the uninitiated, Gunpla Builders World Cup (GBWC) is an official global competition organized by Bandai Spirit, and contestants from various regions and areas around the world can showcase their Mobile Suit Gundam models and be proven as the world’s best builders.

Contestants will be competing in local qualifiers, with the winners advancing to the world championship.

As announced via a Facebook post, Mobile Suit Gundam fans in Malaysia can begin applying for their participation in the tournament through the GBWC official website starting from July 1st to August 17th, 2024.

To participate, you need to read and agree to the Terms and Conditions, fill in the required information, and submit images of your entries. The images of your entry and the actual work will be considered for judging.

After submission, the exhibition of entries as well as the results announcement will be held at the Bandai Spirits Hobby Exhibition & GBWC, at MyTOWN Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur, from October 4th to October 13th, 2024. Participants will be asked to bring their work to the venue on the day of the event.

There will be 3 different tournament courses, separated by age group and minors are required to have consent from their parents or guardians to participate:

• U-14 Course – 6 to 14 years old
• U-20 Course – 15 to 20 years old
• OVER-21 course – 21 years old and older

The winning prizes are as follows, with all courses sharing the same prize items:

• 1st place – Gold trophy, HGUC 1/144 RX-78-2 GUNDAM SMOKE BLACK CLEAR Ver. and Commemorative Crystal Plate, advancement to the World Final
• 2nd place – Silver trophy, HGUC 1/144 RX-78-2 GUNDAM SMOKE BLACK CLEAR Ver. and Commemorative Crystal Plate
• 3rd place – Bronze trophy, HGUC 1/144 RX-78-2 GUNDAM SMOKE BLACK CLEAR Ver. and Commemorative Crystal Plate

Even if you didn’t win, all participants except those who are disqualified are eligible for receiving an official badge of the Gunpla Builders World Cup 12th Tournament, while stocks last.
