Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Producer Yoshinori Kitase Hopes Series to Continue After Remake Project

Yoshinori Kitase, the producer of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, head of Square Enix’s Creative Business Unit I, and the Final Fantasy series Brand Manager, hopes the Final Fantasy VII series will continue after the remake project concludes.

According to the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Ultimania book that was released in Japan this week, Kitase commented that he hopes the world of the Final Fantasy VII series will continue even after the third entry in the remake project has been released.

In a post by Twitter/X user @aitaikimochi that translated the comment, Kitase also said that he believes the third game in the remake project may be his last involvement with Final Fantasy VII due to his age.

For this, Kitase aims to bring the trilogy to a close with a happy ending and on a positive note without leaving behind unfinished business.

Apart from the comment from Kitase, the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Ultimania book also includes various details on the game, including the ending and a certain character’s fate by director Tetsuya Nomura.
