Dragon’s Dogma 2 Announces Update Plans to Add New Game, 30 FPS Cap, and Other Graphical Setting Options

Following the game’s shaky launch, Capcom has detailed some of their update plans for Dragon’s Dogma 2 coming in the near future.

As announced via a post on the game’s official X/Twitter account, Capcom has listed down various improvements currently planned to come in an update or more for Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Starting with improvements that are coming to all platforms, Capcom noted that they will add an option for players to start a new game when they already have save data, which is currently not possible in Dragon’s Dogma 2 without manually deleting save files.

“Art of Metamorphosis”, an item that allows players to edit their characters or main Pawns, will also have its stock at Pawn Guilds increased to 99.

Furthermore, console versions of the game will also feature more graphical settings options in the future, including toggleable Motion Blur and Ray Tracing.

There will also be settings to set the game’s frame rate to either the current Variable option with uncapped frame rate or Max 30 FPS.

Moving on to the PC, Capcom noted that quality improvements are coming to the game when DLSS Super Resolution is enabled.

Despite receiving high praise from critics, with GamerBraves’ own review scoring it a 10/10, the launch of Dragon’s Dogma 2 was met with controversy for its notable performance issues even on high-end PCs as well as the inclusion of microtransactions.

However, the game still garnered a rising concurrent player count despite backlash with an all-time peak number of over 200K players, making it Capcom’s largest single-player release, overtaking the likes of Resident Evil 4 Remake and Devil May Cry 5.
