Grounded and Pentiment Coming to Nintendo Switch

Grounded and Pentiment, both games developed by Obsidian Entertainment, are coming to Nintendo Switch soon.

In the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, Grounded, and Pentiment are revealed to be two of the Xbox exclusive titles that Microsoft has announced will be coming to other platforms.

According to the showcase, Grounded is scheduled to release on the Nintendo Switch on April 16th, 2024. While Pentiment is available on the Nintendo eShop today.

Grounded is a survival action-adventure game that was developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios, the game was released for early access in 2020 for Windows, Xbox Series One, and Xbox Series X|S before being fully released on September 27th, 2022.

The game has you play as one of the main characters, Max, Willow, Pete, or Hoops, who all woke up one day, shrunk and confused, with no memory of how they were shrunk and how they ended up in the backyard. Here, players need to scavenge for food and water to make sure their character does not get hurt by starvation or dehydration.

However, dangers lurk within the backyard, with many insects such as bees, spiders, ladybugs, and more who all pose significant threats to your shrunken protagonists.

As players explore and collect more resources, they can use what they have collected to craft weapons such as axes and bows to better fend off their enemies.

Pentiment is a narrative adventure role-playing game developed by the same company, it was released on Windows, Xbox Series One, and Xbox Series X|S on November 15th, 2024.

In the game, you play Andreas Maler, a journeyman artist who is deeply involved in a series of murder mysteries in Upper Bavaria.

Using a 2D perspective, players are tasked with investigating the murders of which the townsfolk are accused. After collecting proof and information, the player will need to accuse the one they think committed the crime. However, they can also include previous travels and the academic background of the protagonist to define the personal history of Andreas, which ultimately may affect how the mysteries are solved.

As previously stated, Grounded will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on April 16th, 2024, while Pentiment is available now.
