On 1 March 2018, Bushiroad announced that it will be shutting down services for its mobile SRPG Granadia Saga on 30 April 2018. For the record, the game came out on 1 December 2017. That’s right, the game had lasted a mere five months.
On paper, the game had everything going for it, with its story written by Miyajima Takumi, who served as scriptwriter for Fate/Zero and Tales of Abyss. The character designs were particularly unique looking as well and pleasing to the eye. So what went wrong? As it turns out, the game was bogged down by extremely long load times and was bogged down further by slow pace. This would not have been as bad if it were a console release, but on the mobile, it would be rather irritating to say the least.
