Fortnite Creative Mode is a treasure trove of community-made maps that pushes the envelop for creativity; with one of maps turning the Battle Royale game into an FFXIV raid.
The DoomsDay Raid Boss Battle created by user sigrs has you and up to 5 other players get to pick from three classic MMO classes in Vanguard (Tank), Assault (DPS) and Support to duke it out against a massive boss.
However, the MMO-isms doesn’t stop there, from Twitter user Mlick’s tweet, we’re able to see a lot of similarities from the Fortnite DoomsDay Boss Battle and a Trial Raid in FFXIV.
Aside from the dramatic camera panning shot of the boss at the start of the fight, the boss also has access to a movelist that revolves around big affect-of-effect attacks, which are telegraphed by indicators.
The raid boss battle even spawned in some memes, where previously mentioned Mlick had drawn up a raid diagram for him and his friends that had been attempting the fight.
It’s always to see cool new concepts such as this pop up in other genre of games, especially one as popular as Fortnite.
For those interesting in trying out the Creative map, Fortnite players can key in a special island code or check out the official Fortnite page here.
