The Closed Beta Test of the 2023 most-anticipated legendary mobile game Metal Slug: Awakening will begin on June 28 across multiple regions: Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

Although Singapore and Malaysia are not included in the Metal Slug: Awakening Closed Beta Test, based on the announcement from VNGGames earlier this year that the game will be released across 8 Asian regions, it’s highly believed that Singapore and Malaysia will not be ruled out in the next phase.

Publisher VNG Games says they have also observed that the game’s community groups in Singapore and Malaysia on various social platforms including Facebook and Discord have been very active and have garnered close to 10K of members thus far, making them pleased with the fan support in these regions.

Metals Slug: Awakening is the mobile version of the classic & legendary run ‘n gun game, licensed by SNK and fully supervised and developed by TiMi Studio. The game was first revealed at Tencent’s game conference in 2021 and has since then launched in China Mainland this April. 

On top of the nostalgic features, the game will also facilitate numerous innovations and updates which include: the ultimate upgrades of pixelized visuals to 3D graphics, raging combat mode, as well as the brand-new thrilling ‘Hot Pursuit’ and ‘The Maze’. Not only that, but players could also interact with others through the social system and ‘Joint Operation’ – guild feature – either teaming up for epic battles or exploring the exciting world map together.
