A new animated Avatar series set after the events of Legend of Korra is reportedly in development and slated to be premier in 2025 for Paramount Plus. This new series will center around an Earthbender who is the next in the cycle to become the Avatar following Aang and Korra.

The Earthbender Avatar series is being worked on by Avatar Studios. It has also been announced that an animated movie that ties into the new series will be coming to theatres sometime after the Series comes out.

This was reported by the Avatar-centric news portal AvatarNews (note, the image used in their Twitter post is a mock-up and not official art from the series):

At this point, little has been confirmed about the new series as it is still in early development. The Legend of Korra took place about 70 years after the events of the original Avatar series so it’s possible that the new series will take place a good few decades after Korra. This means it’s very possible that the new series will take place in their world’s equivalent of the modern day. We’ll have to wait and see.

The new Avatar series is targeting a launch period of 2025 on Paramount Plus.
