Platinum Games Have Made A Post Addressing The Bayonetta 3 Controversy

Bayonetta 3 developers Platinum Games have made a post on Twitter seemingly addressing the controversial accusation from Bayonetta voice actress Hellena Taylor, who stated last week that the studio only offered to pay her a flat rate of 4K USD to reprise her role as Bayonetta. This led to her turning down the role and Jennifer Hale being cast as Bayonetta.

The new post from Platinum Games does not directly respond to the Bayonetta 3 accusations from Taylor but asks for users to refrain from further comments that would disrespect Hale and other contributors to the game.

Their message is in part a response to Jennifer Hale’s own Twitter post about the situation where she said she couldn’t speak about the issue due to her NDA but that she supported all voice actor’s attempts to get paid better.

Shortly following the accusation from Taylor, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier reported that two insider sources said that Taylor was offered 3-4K per voice recording session for a total of at least 15K for the entire job. She allegedly turned this down, asking for a 6 figure salary and residuals. Schreier has also said that he has seen written evidence of the 15K contracts. Taylor has denied that this was the case.

Bayonetta 3 launches on the 28th of October 2022 for Nintendo Switch.
