Square Enix has released a new trailer for Star Ocean: The Divine Force, this time featuring new party members, item creations and private actions.

New Characters

Marielle L. Kenny (CV: Fairouz Ai / Erica Mendez)

A lieutenant aboard the Pangalactic Federation’s latest battleship, the Artoria and also the member of the acclaimed Kenny family. Marielle graduated from the military academy at the top of her class yet she continues to pressure herself to meet the expectations of people and upholding the pedigree of her family name.

She excels in hand-to-hand combat and firearms. Performing her special Vatting ability, D.U.M.A locks onto her weapon and fires a powerful beam.

Chloe Kanaris (CV: Yuka Otusba / Cristina Vee)

A young empath from Verguld and a close friend to Raymond, she is the pilot of Ydas as well as a gifted linguist. Her intuition is borderline clairvoyance and she can predict outcomes rivalling that of artificial intelligence. She was shot down over Aster IV as she was trying to escape via escape pod and her current whereabouts are unknown.

Antonio Lawrence (CV: Ryota Takeuchi / Jay Preston)

Raymond’s older brother and captain of the Aldous as well as employed by Lawrence Logistics. He is a renowned gentleman of dignity but will snap and fly off the handle when a crisis threatens his family. He is a paragon of loyalty and always repays the kindness shown to him and his family, earning him respect from his crew and other employees of the company.

Welch Vineyard (CV: Tomoe Hanba / Melissa Fahn)

The current head of the Vineyard family and a self-proclaimed genius, calling herself the “beautiful merchant magnate”. She lives by the three B’s of brains, beauty and benevolence but has the bad habit of spending lots of money. She helps the party with tasks in hopes of restoring her family’s legacy.

Item Creation

The feature allows you to create powerful items using the items you collect in your travels. Each character has their respective talents, from Laeticia’s compounding skills to Raymond’s smithwork skills, that can produce new items that can help in your adventures.

If nurtured, these talents can produce even more amazing items.

Private Actions

These are conversational events that may occur when entering a town. They are separate from the main storyline and affect your relationship with your team depending on how you respond. However, these Private actions play a vital role as they ultimately impact the game’s ending.

Minigame: Es’owa

The goal of this minigame is to place your game pieces known as pawns on the board and attack to reduce your opponent’s health to zero. You can take part in this minigame at the seaport of Rythal and raise your rank by taking on various Es’owa fans that you meet in your adventures.

Other features shown in the trailer includes:

• Side Quests that you can take in towns and cities, ranging from having you deal with monsters in the wilderness to delivering items to someone in need.
• Fast Travel, allowing you to teleport instantly to previously visited locations for efficient exploration.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force is a new action-RPG by Square Enix set to release on October 27th this year on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. PC will be available on Steam on October 28th.
