At EVO 2022, The King of Fighters XV has announced Team Samurai as the last DLC Team for its first season. The team consists of Samurai Shodown characters Hoahmaru, Nakoruru, and Darli Dagger. The team will launch sometime in the fall of 2022
It has further been announced that fan-favorite characters Kim Kaphwan and Shingo Yabuki will be added to the game as part of the Season 2 DLC. The second season will begin in 2023.
Nakoruru had previously appeared in King of Fighters XIV as part of the Another World Team. This will be Hoahmaru and Darli Dagger’s first appearance in a King of Fighters game.
Kim Kaphwan first appeared in Fatal Fury 2 and has been a mainstay of King of Fighters since the original King of Fighters ’94. Many fans were confused by his abscence from the base roster of KOF XV so it’s good that he’s finally making his return.
Shingo Yabuki (or as I like to call him, Ritcher Belmont in high school) was a character addded to King of Fighters ’97. He was made to be a more lighhearted character that idolizes main protgonist Kyo Kusanagi.
The King of Fighters XV is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC with Team Samurai coming later this fall.
