Contrary to what some netizens may bed led to believe, Diablo Immortal has not been banned from China, where it’s due to release.

A Reddit post made earlier today that is gaining traction on several subreddits such as r/DiabloImmortal, r/Asmongold and r/gachagaming suggested the game’s license may have been revoked. However, there is no official communication or announcement which puts the game’s license in China to question.

The announcement above is an apology to players due to the game’s initial planned release date of 23rd June 2022 being delayed. The announcement further explains that the reason for the delay is to better optimize the game, which aligns with the English announcement that was made. However, one major difference between the English announcement—which was meant for the whole of Asia Pacific—and the Chinese announcement, is the lack of a new release date for China.

The Asia Pacific delay revealed the new release date for the game, which is set to 7th July 2022. However, it is unknown whether the Chinese version will release at this date, or at a different date altogether.

The only part of Diablo Immortal that is banned in China is its Weibo account. According to a Yahoo Finance article on 17th June 2022, the game’s Weibo account was banned due to a “violation of related laws and regulations.”
