To help you get through the battles in Triangle Strategy, here’s a character tier list to make the best party you can. As with any tactical strategy game worth its salt (ha ha), characters come with their various characteristics, stats and skills that can give them an edge in the situations you may field them in.

All accompanying screenshots show characters at max level and max upgrade for their highest possible stats, excluding additional equipment.

SUMMARY

Recruiting all characters will require at least 4 playthroughs, as Chapter 15 in particular has 4 paths where different characters join at each choice.

TIER S

Characters in this tier do exceedingly well in their role with minimal support from other characters.

MAXWELL TRIER
RECRUITMENT METHOD	750 Morality Conviction and 1050 Liberty Conviction BEFORE Chapter 15
ANALYSIS	The best melee character in the game. Tons of AOE options, great speed, great mobility with offensive skills. "Traverse" skill allows him to jump on terrain and still take an action. "Counter Stance" passive lets him counter melee attacks. "Revive" passive lets him resurrect with full health once a battle. Weapon skill lets him jump and deal great damage in huge AOE. Can easily trigger follow-up attacks thanks to range and mobility. Only lacking in no hard crowd control and support spells.
HUGHETTE BUCKLAR
RECRUITMENT METHOD	Chapter 2
ANALYSIS	Best archer thanks to hawk's Jump. Essentially guaranteed to always have high ground to fire, high ground also offering archers longer attack range. Weapon skill gives her good single target damage. Lacking in hard crowd control, but has cheap 2TP Immobilize skill. Lacking in AOE.
ANNA PASCAL
RECRUITMENT METHOD	Chapter 2
ANALYSIS	Innate ability to act twice in a turn, can trigger Follow-Up attacks twice from allies. "Take Cover" grants invisibility for 2 turns. Hard crowd control in "Slumber Strike". Better Jump stat than most characters, almost redundant as she also has "Surmount" that can be upgraded to have 0TP cost for easy vertical movement. Weapon skill lets her deal damage and reduce opponent defense.
MEDINA ALLIAM
RECRUITMENT METHOD	500 Morality Conviction and 400 Liberty Conviction
ANALYSIS	Best healer thanks to sheer utility. "Long Toss" passive gives her more range when using recovery items. "Fast-Acting Medication" can manipulate turn order. "HP Physick" and "TP Physick" passives let her heal more with recovery items, and generates 1TP. "Double Item" allows healing and generating TP twice in one turn. "Ranged Recovery Pellets" can heal and generate TP for clustered allies. Weapon skill grants map wide heal. Weakness lies in cost of consumable items.

TIER A

These characters are great, but lack in one way or another that needs additional support.

AVLORA
RECRUITMENT METHOD	Chapter 17 - Golden Ending Route
ANALYSIS	"Risky Maneuver" uses HP instead of TP to deal massive single target damage, letting her generate TP so long she has HP to use it. Synergy in skill set to deal more damage at lower HP. Weapon skill lets her deal high physical damage in a cross-shape and knockback. Lacking mobility and hard crowd control, requires support due to low HP playstyle.
ERADOR BALLENTINE
RECRUITMENT METHOD	Chapter 2
ANALYSIS	Quintessential tank with high physical defense and poor magical defense. Can get 1TP AOE Provoke that isn't 100%, but range offsets that. Weapon skill grants 100% AOE Provoke and 1-turn invincibility. Bad offense. Lacking mobility even with Sprint.
FLANAGAN GRUTTE
RECRUITMENT METHOD	500 Morality Conviction and 400 Liberty Conviction
ANALYSIS	Physical tank. No AOE Provoke, but high mobility lets him get behind enemy lines for follow-up opportunities. Small AOE attack also lands him in targetted area for further mobility. Passive health regeneration. "Shielding Stance" lets him take 50% damage inflicted on allies. Lacking magical defense, takes increased damage from arrows as a Hawkrider. Still overall more survivable and mobile than Erador.
ARCHIBALD GENOE
RECRUITMENT METHOD	400 Morality Conviction and 500 Utility Conviction
ANALYSIS	Deals more damage the further an enemy is. "Inescapable Arrow" will always hit even if trajectory is blocked. Offers Instant Death if enemy is below 50% HP. Weapon skill deals great damage in a line after one turn charging up. Lacking mobility to get to high ground, compensates with "Inescapable Arrow". AOE skill damage not worth TP cost.
LIONEL KHAPITA
RECRUITMENT METHOD	400 Morality Conviction
ANALYSIS	Merchant with hard crowd control skills. "Endless Speech" being one of the best, with high chance to Sleep and Silence clustered enemies. Lacking in other utility due to mediocre offensive and tanking abilities. Weapon skill has high damage and Tempts, but high 4TP cost and 7500 Gold.
GEELA BREISSE
RECRUITMENT METHOD	Chapter 1
ANALYSIS	First healer. Single and AOE heals, but AOE is restricted to requiring allies be next to each other. Can cure all ailments and has Haste. Weapon skill gives unique "Reraise" skill. Lacking defenses and mobility.
BENEDICT PASCAL
RECRUITMENT METHOD	Chapter 1
ANALYSIS	Melee support to provide buffs EXCEPT Speed, Accuracy and Evasion. "Now...!" can manipulate turn order which also gives the character the natural 1TP. Weapon skill provides small AOE 1-time invincibility shield. Good physical defense but lacking in tanking abilities, no hard crowd control. Buffs replaceable with spices.
RUDOLPH MUELLER
RECRUITMENT METHOD	Chapter 3 - To Aesfrost
ANALYSIS	Only archer with hard crowd control, and best strength. Unique "Steel Trap" also works on bosses normally immune to status ailments, forcefully ending their turn when triggered. Weapon skill gives ranged AOE damage. Tier A thanks to "Slumber Shot", putting an enemy to Sleep for 2 turns. Lacking range and mobility.
TRAVIS
RECRUITMENT METHOD	Chapter 15 - Visit the Roselle Village AFTER Chapter 11 - Surrendering the Roselle
ANALYSIS	"Mug" damages and steals. "Backwards Toss" deals large damage and throws an enemy behind you to set up follow-up attacks. "Impending Strike" is a better "Delayed Strike", cleaving and delaying enemy turn orders. Upgrades grant 50% Fire Resistance to complement "Trial by Fire" passive, increasing attack on burning terrain. Can be off-tank for fire mages, if buying Oil Jugs to burn terrain. Weapon skill lets him deal damage to all around him after 1-turn charge up, low practicality. Lacking speed and crowd control.

TIER B

Generally average in performance.

ROLAND GLENBROOK
RECRUITMENT METHOD	Chapter 2 (Usable in Chapter 1)
ANALYSIS	One of two melee characters with multiple AOE attacks. Good movement but mediocre jump, offsetting any mobility advantages. Good reach and damage e.g. "Four Dragons". Free attack when moving up at least 5 squares to an enemy, but does not trigger follow-up attacks. Innate weakness to spears. Lacking survivability and crowd control.
SERENOA WOLFFORT
RECRUITMENT METHOD	Protagonist
ANALYSIS	Has offense and support. "Shielding Stance" lets him take the hit from allies. Weapon skill grants AOE +1TP to nearby allies. Offensive abilities are mediocre despite high critical chance (highest Luck stat), mediocre mobility and lacking crowd control. Best utilized as off-tank.
MILO YUELLE
RECRUITMENT METHOD	Chapter 15 - See Lord Symon in Wolffort Castle
ANALYSIS	Second highest Evasion stat. High mobility, can pass through enemy lines to set up follow-up attacks. "Moon Jump" lets her take a no-move action on landing. Has Magic attack that can crit and poison. Buff evasion to increase survivability. Weapon skill has 100% Tempt to AOE convert enemies. Lacking actual physical damage.
GROMA JURGINA
RECRUITMENT METHOD	1050 Utility Conviction and 750 Liberty Conviction
ANALYSIS	Dodge tank similar to Milo, with highest Evasion stat. Can walk through enemies and has good Jump stat. Cleave has immobilize chance. 1TP range attack. Counterattacks on successful dodge. Weapon skill gives single target ranged damage with bonus damage based on enemy height. Lacking sustain and crowd control.
CORENTIN JENNAR
RECRUITMENT METHOD	Chapter 3 - To Hyzante
ANALYSIS	Ice mage with damaging spells and more useful support than Frederica. Most terrain can be frozen without many conditions, reducing movement in that area. Can gain extra TP when on frozen terrain. "Wall of Ice" can block paths. Has 1-time Invincibility spell. Weapon skill grants instant-cast large damaging AOE frost spell.
TRISH
RECRUITMENT METHOD	Chapter 15 - Visit Roselle Village AFTER Chapter 11 - Defending the Roselle
ANALYSIS	Can steal on regular attacks, but usually low value items and Golden Ending enemies have no items to steal. Has mobility skill but can't take other actions. Only non-mage with fire damage. Weapon skill grants two actions in 1 turn for the next 2 turns at 3TP cost, after 1 turn wait time. Weak to ice, mediocre when compared to other archers.
NARVE OPARYN
RECRUITMENT METHOD	110 Morality Conviction and 275 Liberty Conviction
ANALYSIS	Has all basic elemental spells and healing. Offers flexibility in transforming terrain. Single target lightning spell with Paralyze chance. AOE wind spell that can damage and change enemy direction. Weapon skill grants a straight line fire spell that also heals. Mediocre healing, dependent on TP like other mages.
EZANA Q'LINKA
RECRUITMENT METHOD	400 Utility Conviction and 500 Liberty Conviction
ANALYSIS	Lightning spells give her great single target damage at low TP cost. AOE wind spell similar to Narve's with slightly more damage. Can alter weather with "Rite of Rain" and "Rite of Tempest". Pairs well with Narve to give lightning spells more spread through rain. Weapon skill grants map-wide lightning spell with 1 turn charge up, mediocre accuracy. Potential to highroll with Paralyze hits.
CORDELIA GLENBROOK
RECRUITMENT METHOD	Chapter 15 - Stay in the capital with Roland
ANALYSIS	A healer with highest burst healing and furthest range, many at high cost. AOE heal has wide range centered around her, meaning putting her near the frontline. Passive generates TP when not moving. Sacrifices 50% HP for her 50%HP-base healing. Weapon skill lets her overheal. Can provide regeneration and evasion, good for Avlora.

TIER C

Potentially shines in niche situations.

JULIO WRIGHTMAN
RECRUITMENT METHOD	275 Morality Conviction and 110 Utility Conviction
ANALYSIS	Best for "Moment of Truth", costing 1TP but grants 1TP and raises strength and magic attack. Has non-elemental single target melee magical attack. Weapon skill deals damage to surrounding enemies and reduces their TP by 1. Best paired with mages, but can't manipulate turn order and lackluster outside of providing TP.
FREDERICA AESFROST
RECRUITMENT METHOD	Chapter 1
ANALYSIS	"Fire Eater" and "Flame Shield" are situational and expensive. Weapon skill grants huge fireball spell that needs 1 turn charge up. Innate weakness to ice damage. Lacking mobility, support spells and crowd control.
DECIMAL
RECRUITMENT METHOD	1600 Utility Conviction
ANALYSIS	Simplified Calculator from Final Fantasy Tactics. Conditional, wide range damage e.g. based on enemy current HP or height. Doesn't generate TP naturally, needs to end turn or requires TP support. Could be useful in vertical maps, specifically more so when you start in a valley.
QUAHUAG
RECRUITMENT METHOD	1600 Utility Conviction
ANALYSIS	Fastest speed tied with Anna. Skill set is eclectic. Can apply speed buff. Has 2TP spell similar to Hossabara's "Catapult" that moves an ally to any height in a certain range. "In Due Time" deals HP% based damage only when enemy ends turn, also his only damaging spell. "Stop Time" stops EVERYONE from taking actions, granting Quahuag 1 extra non-moving action. "Distorted Space" swaps enemy unit positions. Weapon skill resets HP and buffs to previous turn, but does not return fallen units. Must be built around to be effective.

TIER D

Even more niche potential utility.

JENS MACHER
RECRUITMENT METHOD	275 Morality Conviction
ANALYSIS	Melee utility character, building 2 different ladders for both allies and enemies to ascend / descend hard to reach areas. Offers traps that can knockback and delay turns. Weapon skill grants ranged turret that fires 5 times on nearby enemies and can miss, destroyed at 0 HP and can only have 1 built at any time. "Slumber Strike" can be upgraded to 3 turn sleep. Not tanky or damaging, limited utility outside of vertical maps.
PICCOLETTA
RECRUITMENT METHOD	450 Liberty Conviction
ANALYSIS	The Mime. Mediocre ranged physical attack. Can swap positions with her decoys. Can deal good damage with elemental stones, if you can afford them. Above average mobility. Weapon skill grants "Copy Cat" that can steal a 1-time use skill from an enemy, but needs 2 turns for full effect (1 to steal, 1 to cast). Personal damage is low, utility only in decoys as distraction.

TIER E

At this point, impractical to use because other characters can already do what they do but better or more reliably.

GIOVANNA KOPPEL
RECRUITMENT METHOD	1600 Liberty Conviction
ANALYSIS	The Geomancer, with spells changing based on the terrain she stands on, so works well with mages who can alter terrain. Highest magic defense and furthest movement among all playable characters. Weapon skill gives her good non-elemental damage in a cross-shape. Conditional spells makes for unreliable utility, on top of TP costs. Would be more consistent with ice mages due to ease of freezing terrain over fire.
HOSSABARA FREYYA
RECRUITMENT METHOD	110 Liberty Conviction and 275 Utility Conviction
ANALYSIS	Mixed kit without any particular niche. Unique AOE heal that doesn't heal herself. Mediocre melee cleave attack. Weapon skill grants "Catapult", to move an ally to any height in a 5 range, but costly at 3TP. Innate weakness to spears. Jack of all trades that falls short.

That concludes our Triangle Strategy character tier list. Of course, if you think you can find a composition to form a strategy around the more niche units, that’s all the more power to you. It is a game about tactics, after all.
