Ikumi Nakamura Launches New Studio UNSEEN

Ikumi Nakamura, most famously known for her appearance at E3 where she enthusiastically showed off Ghostwire: Tokyo has launched her new independent studio, titled UNSEEN.

In a short promotional video, Ikumi Nakamura introduced the core values of UNSEEN, explaining that it would be a smaller Tokyo-based operation.

The announcement also comes with the launch of the UNSEEN website, showing off the various talents already working at the studio on an unannounced project.

“I’m building a new team in a way I have never experienced before”, Nakamura says. “Working and learning with this amazing group of talent raises the bar for all of us”.

While the studio has announced that it is working on a game, details on said game are scarce with no real details announced.

Despite having practically been the face of Ghostwire Tokyo after her enthusiastic performance at E3, Nakamura soon left the project, citing her own health as a concern.

“Arriving to that point was like a long dive underwater,” she said in a documentary by Cutscenes. . “I had been ill for some time. You can’t make games if you’re not healthy. I started wondering whether there wasn’t a way for me to make games while feeling better. I took the decision to quit before it was too late.”

She had also mentioned her plans for UNSEEN back then too, however at the time it was still an unnamed studio project.

“It was the chance for me to travel and learn what made a good working environment,” she said.” I decided to use that experience to open my small studio and build my IP.”
