Bravely Default Brilliant Lights release date confirmed for Japan

Bravely Default Brilliant Lights has confirmed their release date for Japan, launching on 27 January 2022. Unfortunately for worldwide Bravely fans, as usual, this release date for Brilliant Lights does not apply to you. This is a new mobile entry for the series, featuring familiar faces and new characters.

With this upcoming launch, the official website has been updated with a digital play manual (in Japanese) that you can check out here. It provides information including the prologue, the 4 new Heroes of Light, continent maps, battle systems, and the like. If you’re able to visit the Square Enix cafe, you could also get yourself the physical copy of said manual.

If it’s anything like Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, it will potentially be region locked, requiring some creative bypasses. Pre-registrations remain open for the game, though the rewards for doing so are not immediately apparent. There should be goodies regardless, whatever they are.

Last December, an English trademark was filed for Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent which gives hope for a localization. Should Bravely Default Brilliant Lights intend to take the same route, expect a similar timeline for any sort of news. As always, stay tuned, and follow the official Twitter while you’re at it.
