Where Winds Meet Reveals Imperial Palace Expansion and a Full Content Roadmap on Its Half-Anniversary

Everstone Studio is marking the half-anniversary of its open-world Wuxia action RPG, Where Winds Meet, with a wave of big announcements. The highlight is the reveal of the game’s second major expansion, Imperial Palace, set to launch in late May. Alongside it, the studio laid out a detailed content roadmap covering new systems, game modes, weapons, and more.

Following the events of the Hexi expansion, the story moves to the center of the empire. The Imperial Palace expansion opens up a royal court and grounds spanning 1 million square meters, an area that was previously off-limits to players and described as comparable in scale to the city of Kaifeng. Inside, players will find over 3,000 NPCs spread across multiple factions, each with their own agendas. The expansion promises a look into royal court life, hidden conspiracies, and new relationships with members of the royal family, with story threads that hint at bigger events ahead.

Beyond the expansion, Everstone Studio shared a roadmap of additional content arriving over the coming months.

A limited-edition Panda cosmetic goes live on May 19th, priced at 60 Echo Beads (roughly $0.99 USD). The cosmetic was described as inspired by wildlife, with the studio noting it aims to raise awareness for wildlife protection. It will be available in the shop for 30 days, until June 17th.

In June, the Homesteads System arrives, letting players return to Qinghe to build a personal sanctuary, farm, and settle into life as a martial arts master. Also coming in June are two new game modes: Martial Path Domain, a cooperative PVE experience for five players, and a new exploration mode set inside ancient tombs where players compete for loot.

Later in the summer, Gauntlets will be added as a new weapon type. The studio says it comes with its own martial arts path and is focused on up-close, physical combat. A Companion System is also in the works for a future update. It will introduce animal sidekicks whose personalities and dialogue shift based on the player’s progress and shared experiences.
