Bandai Namco and developer Media.Vision have unveiled exciting new details about Digimon Story Time Stranger, focusing on the game’s fresh systems for enhancing and customizing your Digimon partners. The upcoming monster-raising RPG puts players in the shoes of an ADAMAS agent, a member of a secret organization that investigates supernatural events.

The battle system revolves around a smart mix of Attributes and Elements. There are seven Attributes (like Vaccine, Virus, and Data) and 11 Elements (including Fire, Water, and Plant). Understanding these matchups is key to winning fights – for example, Vaccine-type Digimon deal double damage to Virus-types, and using the right elemental attack can boost your damage even more.
One of the biggest new features is the Personality system. Every Digimon now has one of 16 different personality types that affect how they grow and what skills they can learn. A Digimon with a “Daring” personality will get stronger in Attack and Defense stats, making them perfect for front-line fighting. The new Agent Skills system lets you, the player, grow alongside your Digimon.
By completing missions, you earn points to unlock helpful abilities like boosting certain personality types, gaining more experience, or making evolution requirements easier to meet.

Players also get access to Cross Arts – powerful combo moves that blend your Digivice with your Digimon’s abilities during battle. These can provide crucial support through stat boosts or follow-up attacks. Your progress is tracked through an Agent Rank system, which directly makes your Digimon stronger as you level up. This creates a real sense of partnership between you and your digital companions.
Digimon Story Time Stranger launches October 3 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC through Steam.
