Sony just revealed a new Live TV feature for PlayStation 5 available now, which allows users to access over 100 free live channels directly through their consoles. As of today, the feature is available for PS5 owners in the United States, but Sony promises to explore other regions in the future.

The feature offers a mixture of programming, ranging from movies to news, anime, sports, and more. Moreover, Sony has stated that Live TV’s catalogue would constantly evolve, adding new channels and content in the long run.

At the time of writing, the lineup of movie channels includes MovieSphere by Lionsgate, FilmRise Free Movies, and 50 Cent Action.

The TV Show section features a promising start as well, offering acclaimed programming, such as The Walking Dead, Community, and Hell’s Kitchen. Meanwhile, those who’d like to catch up on their favorite anime can indulge in Naruto, Sailor Moon, Death Note, and other Crunchyroll channels.

As for sports coverage, users can expect football, hockey, motorsports, boxing, and soccer on launch. Coverage for broadcasts, such as FOX Sports, NASCAR, NBC Sports Now, and UFC has been confirmed thus far.

Finally, the feature is bringing creator-led content to the PS5 as well. Those leading the charge are Hot Ones, Spotify’s The Ringer, Futcrunch, and Idle Mode.

Accessing the service is simple. Users simply need to open the Media tab, select the Live TV on PS5 icon, and sign in using their PlayStation account. Live TV is also a breath of fresh air because it’s ad-supported; it doesn’t require a subscription fee.
