On Rune Factory’s 20th Anniversary, Marvelous dropped footage from the franchise’s next installment, confirming that it’s still in development. The new early development look marks the follow-up to the original May 2023 announcement of Rune Factory 6 during Marvelous’ inaugural showcase.
The 30-second reveal didn’t showcase much story and mechanics-wise, but it did offer a glimpse into its world and visual direction. For instance, the footage featured a Mokomoko walking from a rural farm area before walking through a sprawling forest into the large city, where it met with a group of Wooly.

From the short section at the end of the reveal, the city looked expansive and significantly bigger than what previous Rune Factory games have introduced. This setting has been confirmed as the western continent of Adonea, which was first mentioned in the 2023 reveal.
During the 2023 announcement, the 6th installment was revealed alongside Project Dragon, which eventually became Guardians of Azuma. The latter was released in June 2025 on consoles and PC, while Rune Factory 6 virtually didn’t see the light of day until today’s reveal.
Rune Factory is a fantasy action-RPG and life-simulation series from Marvelous, but what sets it apart from the studio’s other game, STORY OF SEASONS, is that it combines farming and everyday life with combat, exploration, crafting, monster taming, and relationship-building.

Marvelous has yet to comment on a release date, platforms, characters, or story details, but they did promise that more updates will be coming, urging players to stay tuned. For now, fans will have to wait to discover what Rune Factory 6 has in store.
