Kenichi Nishi, known for Chrono Trigger, Moon: Remix RPG Adventure, and Chibi-Robo!, announced Briki’n Roll: Course Maker. He shared that he designed the video game entirely by “vibe coding,” with his studio, Route24 Inc.
Vibe coding breaks away from traditional computer coding. Instead of requiring developers to write line by line, it uses plain language prompts to direct AI. Nishi stated that he “wrote no code by hand” from the prototype to the shipping build.

The goal is to roll a ball from the starting point to the finish line. What makes it special is that it lets players indulge themselves in creating Rube Goldberg-esque courses.
Among the gadgets that Briki’n Roll: Course Maker gives players are cannons, springs, and even a Ferris wheel. The creative freedom, paired with the trial and error, makes for a highly satisfying resolution.
Players will also be accommodated by Briki’n, which sort of acts like this game’s Microsoft paperclip, Clippy—without the annoying side. It’s a chatty tin-robot buddy who cheers the players on with every run.

Briki’n Roll: Course Maker is also a social game, allowing players to post their own courses for others to try. If they enjoy it, the creator gets a like! The game has been up exclusively in New Zealand since July of this year, and several players, both kids and adults, have already traded courses.
Overall, the game is shaping up to be a great casual and social game that combines creativity with a simple premise. Furthermore, the fact that it was conceived without technically writing a single line of code is impressive.
Nishi announced that the game launches on September 1 on the App Store. It can be enjoyed for free or with a one-time payment of $4.99 to get rid of ads (regional pricing applies).
