Aniplex and Joycity Corporation have unveiled a new cinematic trailer for Resident Evil Survival Unit, giving fans a closer look at the characters, enemies, and tone of the upcoming mobile strategy spin-off.
A Star-Studded Resident Evil Cast

The Resident Evil Survival Unit trailer opens with the game’s new lead character arriving alongside Claire Redfield. Unlike the mainline series, players will issue commands to the team rather than directly fight, embracing Resident Evil Survival Unit’s strategy horror approach.
Familiar faces take the spotlight, including:
- Jill Valentine
- Leon S. Kennedy
- Carlos Oliveira
- Marvin Branagh
- Mikhail Viktor
- Ada Wong (briefly teased)
Fans can also spot classic weapons like Leon’s rocket launcher and Jill’s railgun from Resident Evil 3 Remake. The video even confirms the return of fan-favourite bosses, such as Nemesis, Mr. X, and the giant crocodile. A new antagonist named Mortem, designed by legendary artist Yoshitaka Amano, also makes an appearance.
A Parallel Universe Survival Experience

Set in a parallel Resident Evil universe, the story begins with players awakening in a hospital run by the Umbrella Corporation. From there, they establish a base inside a large, explorable mansion where characters interact, craft items, and prepare for missions.
Key features include:
- Base building with the returning Weapons Merchant
- Cross-title team formation with characters from across the franchise
- Real-time defense battles against iconic enemies
- Tactical use of environmental traps and coordinated abilities
Music by QUEEN BEE
The trailer is accompanied by “Mountain Hunt” from Japanese rock band QUEEN BEE. Vocalist Avu-chan describes it as a fast-paced love song that matches the intensity of the collaboration.
Pre-Registration Milestone

Despite being a mobile title, Resident Evil Survival Unit has already reached over 1 million pre-registrations, unlocking launch-day rewards for all players. The game is set to launch globally in 2025 for iOS and Android.
With Resident Evil Requiem slated for February 27, 2026, this spin-off offers fans a chance to enjoy the franchise’s world while waiting for the next mainline entry.
