Prime Video has released first-look images of its chilling new Thai original film, Host. The movie reimagines Thailand’s legendary “Mae Sue” spirit for the big screen. Acclaimed filmmaker Pokpong-Pairach Khumwan (Girl from Nowhere, Siam Square) directs the film, while Baipor-Thitiya Jirapornsilp (Love Stuck, You & Me & Me), Perth-Veerinsara Tungkitsuvanich (Attack 13), and Jump-Pisitpol Ekaphongpisit (The Cliche, Not Friends) lead the cast.

The film will premiere exclusively on Prime Video later this year. Moreover, viewers in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide can stream it, including Malaysia.
A Terrifying Story of Mystery and Obedience
Host follows Ing, a young woman sent to a reform school on a remote island. At the school, students must obey strict rules. In addition, a rigid hierarchy controls daily life, with the principal’s favored pupil at the top and Ing at the bottom.

Soon, disturbing incidents begin to unfold. As these events escalate, Ing confronts a terrifying question. Does she face an external supernatural threat, or does she herself trigger these horrors? As a result, her story becomes one of survival and self-discovery.

Bringing Thai Folklore to a Global Audience
“Thailand has a proud legacy of horror and supernatural storytelling,” said Darin Darakananda, Head of Central Scripted Series & Movies, International Originals, Amazon MGM Studios. “Therefore, we’re thrilled to deliver Host to Prime Video members both in Thailand and around the world.

This collaboration with director Pokpong and Transformation Films also shows our commitment to authentic local stories with global appeal.”
Star-Studded Ensemble Cast
Transformation Films produced Host for Amazon MGM Studios. The film also showcases a strong ensemble cast. Furthermore, it features Wee-Weeraya Zhang, Nepjune-Nutkitta Poonsukwattana, Famed-Sanutcha Janchoom, and Ae-Narinthorn Na Bangchang.

Host joins thousands of titles that already stream on Prime Video. These include local favorites like That Cover Girl and Budak Flat. Additionally, fans of Korean dramas can enjoy Head Over Heels and Newtopia.
Anime enthusiasts will also find hits such as Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and Rurouni Kenshin. Moreover, global audiences continue to stream award-winning Amazon Originals like The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and The Boys.
Prime Video members can watch anywhere, anytime, on thousands of devices. Members can also download episodes and films to watch offline at no additional cost. In Malaysia, Prime Video costs RM 25 per month.
