Nihon Falcom has released its consolidated financial results for the first half of the fiscal year ending September 2026, and the profit numbers are looking very strong for the Japanese RPG developer. According to the report, the company saw major growth across all financial metrics compared to the same period last year. Revenue climbed by 153.9%, while operating profit shot up by 1,227.4%.
The biggest driver behind these numbers was Nihon Falcom’s licensing division, which covers revenue from international game releases. Sales in that segment grew by 194.8% year-on-year, with Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter being the main reason for that jump. The full 3D remake launched simultaneously worldwide in September last year and has done very well for the company, both critically and commercially. It has since become Nihon Falcom’s best-performing Steam release to date.

On the back of these strong results, the company has significantly revised its earnings forecast for the full fiscal year. Earlier, Nihon Falcom was cautious with its projections, citing difficulty in predicting how Kyoto Xanadu would perform commercially. With updated figures now in, the company is expecting a 38.4% increase in revenue and a 69.2% increase in operating profit compared to its previous forecast. Nihon Falcom again credits the continued success of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter for these upward revisions.
Looking at the rest of the fiscal year, Nihon Falcom has two major releases lined up. Kyoto Xanadu is scheduled to launch on July 16, and Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is set for a simultaneous global release on September 17 across PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
