Playstation State of Play has teamed up with Avalanche Software to showcase the latest news on the upcoming Harry Potter Wizarding World game, Hogwarts Legacy, including narrowing its release period down to the holidays months (November, December) of this year.

In the Hogwarts legacy, you’ll play as a new fifth-year student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry back in the 1800s. You’re joining the school a year later than everyone else, meaning you’ll have a harder time fitting in but in time you’ll be stringing magic like the best of them and perhaps uncovering a mystery or two surrounding this age-old school.

The main character also has something special about them. They can sense ancient magic and as you walk the steps of the moving staircases, you’ll be sensing it a lot throughout your academic year.

The State of Play gave viewers a full tour of Hogwarts, Hogsmead, and other well-known areas from the books and even a few never seen before. Ever want to know what the non Griffindoor common rooms look like, this game will show you. Hogwarts Legacy will allow you to walk the entire length of Hogwart’s ground.

You also get a closer look at combat and magic upgrades, and the darker forces at play surrounding the school. You even get to ride a Hippogriff!

The Hogwarts Legacy will be available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
