After two major beta tests and player feedback, GRYPHLINE has revealed the final gacha system for Arknights: Endfield. The system has sparked debate in the community, with some players praising certain features while others worry about its accessibility for free-to-play players. Here’s what you need to know about how the gacha works in this game.

Character Gacha Banners
The game offers three different character gacha banners, each serving a different purpose.
Chartered Headhunting (Limited/Featured Banner)
This is the main banner you’ll want to focus on. At launch, three characters will be available: Laevatain, Gilberta, and Yvonne. Each character gets their own rate-up period on a rotating schedule, but here’s the interesting part—all three characters remain in the pool regardless of whose rate-up period it is. This means you can still pull Gilberta or Yvonne during Laevatain’s rate-up period, and vice versa. The rate-up only affects your chances of getting that specific character.
These three characters will stay available throughout the entire Chartered Headhunting period, which lasts more than a month before the next major update. After that, they won’t appear in other banners unless there’s a rerun later.

The pull rates work like this:
- Every 10 pulls guarantees at least one 5-Star character
- At 80 pulls, you hit a pity system with a 50/50 chance—you’ll get either a standard 6-Star character or the featured banner character
- At 120 pulls, you’re guaranteed to get the current rate-up featured 6-Star character
As a launch bonus, your first 30 pulls include 10 free pulls through “Urgent Recruitment,” though these bonus pulls don’t count toward your pity counter.
New Horizons Headhunting (Beginner Banner)
This is a special banner for new players that helps you get a 6-Star character faster. You earn the currency to pull on this banner by playing through the main story. All standard 6-Star characters are available here, including Ardelia, Last Rite, Ember, Pogranichnik, and Lifeng. Once you get one 6-Star character from this banner, it closes permanently.

Basic Headhunting (Standard Banner)
The standard banner uses the same pity system as Chartered Headhunting. While it shouldn’t be your priority, it does offer a 6-Star Selector after 300 pulls with no time limit to claim it. Only spend here if you have extra resources after pulling on Chartered Headhunting.

Weapon Gacha System
Arsenal Issue is the weapon gacha banner, and it works differently from character banners. Instead of the usual premium currency, you can only use Arsenal Tickets, which you get from every character gacha pull or by converting the premium currency Origeometries.
The weapon banner doesn’t allow single pulls—you can only do an “Issue” that gives you 10 weapons at once. The rates are:
- 4 Issues (40 pulls) guarantees a 6-Star weapon
- 8 Issues (80 pulls) guarantees the featured weapon
- 10 Issues (100 pulls) gives you an Arms Offering Crate, where you can choose any non-featured 6-Star weapon

You can also directly buy weapons with Arsenal Tickets if you prefer not to use the gacha system. All signature weapons for featured characters in Chartered Headhunting will be available at the same time during one long period before the next major update.
Getting Premium Currency
At launch, players can earn up to 135 gacha pulls, the 6-Star character Ardelia, and several 6-Star weapons through available events before the next update. Keep in mind that these are launch celebration rewards, which are typically more generous than what you’ll get long-term.
For ongoing rewards, the developers have added several features:
- More premium currency (Oroberyl) from chests during world exploration
- A new Weekly Routine feature that gives Oroberyl and Arsenal Tickets
- Weekly Routine provides a steady source of Arsenal Tickets outside of character pulls or currency conversion
Each single pull costs 500 Oroberyl, and 10 pulls cost 5000 Oroberyl.

The Main Concern
The biggest complaint about this system is that your pull count on Chartered Headhunting doesn’t carry over to the next banner rotation. If you lose the 50/50 at 80 pulls, you need to keep pulling until you reach 120 pulls for the guarantee. This means the system favors players who can afford to pull until they hit the guarantee rather than those who save pity for future banners.

Since it’s based on RNG, you could get lucky and pull the character early—in your first 10, 20, or 30 pulls. But in the worst case, you’ll need the full 120 pulls. Beta testers reported losing the 50/50 multiple times before reaching the guarantee at 120 pulls. This differs from many other gacha games where losing the 50/50 once guarantees the featured character on your next 6-Star pull.
However, there are some helpful features. Your progress toward the 80-pull pity does carry over to the next banner within the same Chartered Headhunting period, as long as your target character is still in the pool (during one major update period). Additionally, when you reach 60 pulls, you automatically get a bonus 10-pull voucher through Headhunting Dossier conversion, which can be used on the next Chartered Headhunting banner.
Final Thoughts
It’s too early to judge whether this gacha system is truly fair since the game hasn’t launched yet and hasn’t gone through several updates. Many factors affect how easily you can earn resources, and since Arknights: Endfield has more complex gameplay systems that keep players busy with various tasks, resource earning may feel different than expected.
The key takeaway is to only pull when you have enough resources saved up. If you pull without understanding the system or assume it works like other popular gacha games, you may be disappointed, especially if you lose multiple 50/50s before reaching the guarantee.
