Forza Horizon 6 has officially crossed more than 3.7 million players just one day after launch, marking one of the biggest debuts in the history of the Forza Horizon franchise. The latest entry from Playground Games continues to dominate across PC and Xbox platforms, with player numbers rapidly climbing overnight following its global release on May 19, 2026.
According to in-game ranking data, the game gained over one million additional players overnight. Earlier on launch day, the title had already reached approximately 2.4 million players, but that number surged dramatically by the morning of May 20.
The enormous popularity of Forza Horizon 6 has also translated into major activity on Steam. Data from SteamDB shows that the game reached a peak concurrent player count of 273,148 users on Valve’s platform, breaking its previous record of 234,458 players recorded just hours earlier during launch night.
Server Problems Begin Appearing as Player Count Grows

While the launch has been overwhelmingly successful, the massive influx of players has also caused server-related issues for some users. Playground Games confirmed that some players are currently experiencing connectivity problems across online services.
Players on Reddit and other social media platforms began reporting issues ranging from extremely slow menu navigation to problems joining online sessions. Some users claimed that even empty servers were difficult to access, suggesting backend strain caused by the game’s rapidly expanding player base.
Despite the technical hiccups, community reception surrounding the game remains highly positive. Many players have praised the title’s Japanese setting, with fans highlighting how the game captures both major city environments and scenic countryside roads throughout Japan.
Forza Horizon 6 Continues Strong Start Across Platforms
The launch momentum for Forza Horizon 6 has been building steadily since its early access period, where the game already demonstrated unusually high engagement numbers ahead of full release, with Forza Horizon 6 surpassing 3.7 million players within 24 hours. The title has quickly become one of 2026’s biggest gaming launches and is currently being viewed as a major success for Xbox’s first-party lineup.
Set in a massive open-world recreation of Japan, the game introduces new locations inspired by urban districts, mountain roads, coastal highways, and rural landscapes. The setting has become one of the title’s biggest selling points among players online.
Forza Horizon 6 is currently available for PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, as well as on Xbox Series X|S. The game is also included with Xbox Game Pass through the Microsoft Store ecosystem.
A PlayStation 5 version has also been confirmed and is currently scheduled to launch later in 2026, marking another major multiplatform expansion for the franchise.
