Square Enix has announced the release date for its vibrant, over-the-top bubbly foam-themed shooter, FOAMSTARS.

As announced, FOAMSTARS has a global release date scheduled on February 6, 2024, for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

To get as many people into the foam party as possible, Square Enix also announced that FOAMSTARS will be included in the PlayStation Plus monthly game lineup from launch day until March 4, 2024.

This means all PlayStation Plus subscribers can redeem, download, and play FOAMSTARS at no extra cost.

The game will be kept in the players’ PlayStation Plus library after redeeming and available as long as they have an ongoing subscription.

New Content

Along with a release date announcement, Square Enix has also revealed new content for the game that will be available at launch.

Multiplayer Gameplay Mode

The 3 PvP multiplayer modes confirmed for launch are Smash the Star, Happy Bath Survival, and the newly revealed Rubber Duck Party.

Each mode will have 3 maps said to have been designed to deliver original, fun, and strategic experiences with every match.

The maps are also going to be randomized for matchmaking for added challenge and unpredictability.

Missions

There will also be various Missions in FOAMSTARS that grant players the opportunity to learn about the ins and outs of the athletes and mechanics, giving everyone some preparation and ready to face off in competitive PvP matches.

Furthermore, Foamstars and Squad Missions will introduce solo and team-based PvE experiences as players are tasked with protecting Bath Vegas from a series of randomized encounters.

Challenges

In addition to Missions, FOAMSTARS will also contain many in-game Challenges that yield rewards, including playable character, experience bonuses for Season Pass progressions, and more.

Seasonal Updates

Free-themed seasonal updates have also been confirmed for FOAMSTAR throughout 2024 with promises of new experiences, cosmetics, playable characters, maps, and game modes.

Each season will come with an optional Premium Season Pass and players who purchase it will immediately unlock the characters within and earn various additional season-specific cosmetics.

FOAMSTARS is a colorful, over-the-top shooter that combines “the fun of partying with the thrill of combat where players blast through matches using foam to attack, build, and defend.”

In the game, you will take control of a quirky ensemble of athletes as you drop into the eccentric city of Bath Vegas to compete in FOAMSMASH, featuring PvP, and PvE modes for up to eight players, either a four vs. four, solo, or co-op as a Squad with three teammates.
