Diablo Immortal is officially colliding with StarCraft in a massive limited-time Diablo Immortal x StarCraft crossover event launching on May 13. Running until June 10, the event transforms Sanctuary into a battlefield consumed by interstellar war as the Zerg Swarm descends upon the world of Diablo.
Titled “Battle for Beyond,” the crossover introduces new dungeon events, special boss fights, themed gameplay modes, cosmetics, crossover familiars, and a brand-new Legendary Gem inspired by the Zerg faction.
The Swarm Invades Sanctuary

The crossover centers around the “Aeon of Stars” event, which rewards players simply for logging in. Participants can immediately claim a StarCraft-themed avatar frame, the new Baneboil Legendary Gem, and a weapon transmog inspired by Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades.
Players can also progress through the Koprulu Arsenal reward track by completing daily activities, defeating enemies, and participating in limited-time dungeons. Rewards throughout the event include themed portal cosmetics, stickers, weapon transmogs, Legendary Gear with selectable affixes, and Set Items with customizable bonuses.
The event will run across four weeks of rotating reward cycles, giving players additional opportunities to earn Immortal Keys and other upgrade materials.
Dark Ascension Brings Protoss Boss Battles
One of the biggest additions in the crossover is Dark Ascension, a limited-time dungeon event that introduces iconic Protoss enemies into Diablo Immortal.
Players can team up in groups of up to four to battle Tal’Darim Templars and the powerful Ascended Archon, both reimagined for Diablo-style combat. These encounters feature unique event mechanics, exclusive objectives, and special rewards tied directly to the crossover.
Entry into Dark Ascension requires challenge tickets earned throughout the event.
Infested Rifts Introduce Zerg Mutations
The crossover also mutates Elder Rifts through a new Infested Rift system. During the event, players may encounter Zerg infestations that completely transform rift encounters with Swarm enemies and a special boss known as the Feral Hydralisk.
Inside these rifts, players gain access to Psionic Storm abilities that randomly generate damaging fields across the battlefield. Completing Infested Rifts can reward players with exclusive Legendary weapons featuring unique affixes unavailable elsewhere.
Blizzard noted that these special item affixes cannot be transferred, making the crossover rewards limited and exclusive to the event period.
Special Conqueror Mode Adds StarCraft Factions

A themed version of Conqueror mode will also be available throughout the collaboration. Before entering battle, players choose between Terran, Zerg, or Protoss factions, each granting different shrine effects during gameplay.
Terran players gain Stim Pack bonuses that increase Attack Speed and Movement Speed by 30 percent for eight seconds. Zerg players can unleash poison projectiles that apply damage over time, while Protoss players receive protective shields that absorb incoming damage.
Only faction-aligned power-ups appear during matches, and weekly leaderboards will rank players within their selected faction.
Alongside the crossover update, Blizzard is also introducing a permanent gameplay change that unlocks all eight gear slots for every player.
Baneboil Legendary Gem Unleashes Zerg Fury

The collaboration introduces a new two-star Legendary Gem called Baneboil. When equipped, dealing damage summons Banelings that rush toward enemies before exploding into corrosive acid attacks.
These explosions apply damage over time effects while also increasing the damage enemies take from the player.
Players can earn one copy of the Baneboil gem during the event by participating in the Dark Ascension dungeon activities.
Become Kerrigan, Queen of Blades
The crossover also adds a new Phantom Market cosmetic set inspired by Kerrigan, allowing players to fully embody the Queen of Blades inside Sanctuary.
The themed cosmetic transforms players with Swarm-inspired visuals and effects modeled after one of Sarah Kerrigan’s most iconic appearances.
StarCraft Familiars Join The Fight

Two new Diablo Immortal x StarCraft crossover Familiar skins are also arriving as part of the event.
The Protoss Immortal Familiar represents the heavily armored Protoss war machine, while the Zergling Familiar brings relentless Swarm aggression into combat. Blizzard confirmed that players using the Zergling Familiar can activate portable skills without cooldowns, allowing for nonstop combat pressure inspired by classic Zerg gameplay.
The Diablo Immortal x StarCraft crossover event begins May 13 and runs through June 10 across mobile devices and PC.
