[CES 2024] ASUS ROG Reveals The ROG Phone 8 Series with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform

ASUS Republic of Gamers has announced the ROG Phone 8 series with features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform.

With a new design that is 15% thinner than its predecessor, the new ROG Phone 8 series is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, supported by 8533 Mbps LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

The phone features the Rapid-Cooling Conductor design – part of the advanced GameCool 8 thermal design which conducts heat directly from the processor to the back cover; while the new AeroActive Cooler X clip-on is now 29% smaller but offers 1.2X higher thermal efficiency.

Featuring a brand-new 6.78″ flexible AMOLED (Samsung E6) panel that supports adaptive refresh rates using LTPO technology, users of the ROG Phone 8 Pro series and choose up to a 165 Hz refresh rate, and touching sampling rates that goes up to 720 Hz, and shows off a peak brightness of 2500 nits.

The main camera uses the latest 50 MP Sony image sensor, 24 mm wide-angle lens while a 2X zoom mode that transforms into a 50mm prime lens and includes a 6-Axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer 3.0.

The 13 MP ultrawide camera has a free-form lens and cutting-edge algorithms to reduce lens distortion, while the front 32 MP ultrawide selfie camera has a field of view that’s been increased from 73º to 90º.

A handful of AI features can be found in the phone series, such as Background Mode, X Capture, AI Grabber for text capture, X Sense that further elevates gaming experiences, Semantic Search, AI Wallpaper, as well as AI noise-cancellation.

The new ROG Phone 8 series includes unique customisable elements, including the Aura RGB Lighting logo (ROGO Phone 8), and AniMe Vision Mini-LED display (ROG Phone 8 Pro / Pro Edition) that allows users to express their individuality and creativity.
