Activision has officially announced the upcoming season for Call of Duty: Mobile, Season 5: Primal Reckoning set to launch on May 28. This new season introduces a distinctive thematic direction, offering a mix of fresh content and returning fan favorites.

Players can look forward to a brand-new Battle Pass, the reintroduction of the classic Zoo map, the debut of Buy Machines, and an exciting crossover event featuring content from NieR: Automata.

Zoo Map Returns

Originally featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops, the Zoo map makes its long-awaited debut in Call of Duty: Mobile as part of Season 5. This mid-sized battleground challenges Operators to navigate an abandoned zoo, where a sprawling monorail system cuts through the crumbling infrastructure.

Complementing the season’s dystopian theme, the map’s layout features overgrown animal enclosures, derelict gift shops, and other deteriorating attractions – offering both aesthetic depth and tactical variety.

Buy Machines in Battle Royale

Season 5 also introduces Buy Machines to Battle Royale on the Isolated map, giving players a new strategic edge. Scattered throughout the map, these Buy Stations allow players to exchange in-game currency for valuable resources, including weapons, Perks, and Scorestreaks.

Cash can be collected from the environment or looted from defeated Operators, and can be used to purchase items such as armor, ammo refills, unique weaponry like the Purifier flamethrower, and various utility-enhancing Perks. Be mindful, though – shopping can be dangerous when enemies are lurking nearby.

NieR: Automata Crossover

In a high-profile crossover event, Call of Duty: Mobile teams up with NieR: Automata to bring the elite YoRHa Unit to the battlefield. Players will engage in a themed event where they complete missions to earn Action Points, which unlock progress along a branching tactical path.

By reaching checkpoints, navigating counterattack routes, and collecting Skill Chips, players can access exclusive rewards. Successful completion of the event can earn unique items, including the Kui Ji – YoRHa No. 9 Type S Operator skin and four specially designed melee weapons inspired by the NieR universe.
